James Evans (clarinet/sax)
was born in 1971 in North Wales, James Evans graduated in 1993 from Leeds Music College and started touring Europe with Phil Masons New Orleans All Stars. In 1996 James left the Mason band to work freelance. He moved to London in 1998 and has since worked with the Boston Tea Party, Keith Nichols Cotton Club Orchestra, Sammy Rimington, Chris Barber, Ken Simms, Alan Barnes, Martin Litton and Barry Martyn's ‘Young Bloods’. James has also played rhythm and blues with Angela Brown and the mighty 45s and the New Orleans style R & B Ginger Pig Band.
Tom Kincaid (piano)
Born in north Wales, Tom Kincaid’s highly individual take on the music of Errol Garner, his hard swinging virtuosity, and his expressive ballad playing, have made him a long time favourite in bands from every musical genre. He has played with the likes of Sammy Rimington, Barry Martin, the Boston Tea Party, and New Orleans R&B outfit the Fallen Heroes.
Al King (Drums)
is probably Kent’s finest drummer, and appears regularly with the counties top bands including the ‘Chillbillies’, and ‘Ten Men Named Rodney’. T.J. Johnson described him as, ‘….the best drummer I’ve ever heard’!
Jake Gill (Guitar /Banjo)
was born in Japan in 1989 and has already been playing professionally for about 6 years.
He began playing blues guitar as a child, and at 14 won first prize in Guitarist magazine's Young Guitarist of the Year competition. Subsequently he has performed in many vintage jazz groups (often led by his uncle, the pianist Nick Gill), co-led a gypsy swing band in California, and begun studying as a classical baritone. He is currently in the second year of a music degree, and continues to play and sing in a very wide variety of styles and situations.
