Cinema Membership

The Electric Palace cinema runs as a club and admission is restricted to members. Membership fees are £4 for adults, £2 for senior citizens and concessions, and £1 for children aged under 15. It is renewable annually and runs from 1 January to 31 December. A visitor, who is attending a single performance only, can apply for one-off guest membership of £1. Please remember to bring your membership card every time you attend a film.

All the receipts from these fees are donated to the Harwich Electric Palace Trust, a registered charity, which owns the cinema building. This money is the only guaranteed income the Trust receives to pay for the insurance and maintenance of the building, estimated to be over £12000. The cinema is run almost entirely with volunteer staff which, at the present time, is probably the only way a cinema can keep operating in Harwich.

Membership can be arranged at the Box Office or by leaving a message on the Electric Palace cinema answerphone with the following information: name, address and whether you are applying for adult or concession membership. Electric Palace cinema answerphone 01255 553333. You can apply to join on-line by clicking here
